There are people who share information by restating what they hear from the media without them ever analyzing or comprehending it, while some just jump on the bandwagon, and think and act in the way they do because other people are doing so. Then there are those people who use their snob appeal laying claim that we should all act or think in a certain way just because of some high social status they associate with the thought or action. Meanwhile, other people use words that are so vague and poorly defined as to be almost meaningless just to promote or challenge the other person’s opinion. Then there are those people who resort to name calling and use words they load with strong positive or negative connotations, or associations and charge them with emotion. Then just when you think you have heard it all, there are those people who make illogical associations between one thing and something else to cause you view it as positive or negative. And just when you have had enough, there is yet that unreliable person who believes they qualify to endorse another person’s action or opinion. And there you have it; constant propaganda techniques and hearsay people use on other people, which does not adequately substantiate what they say, including the media, swirling round and round in society. Anyone who’s taken an English Composition class knows that at the end of your paper you have to write a bibliography to go with the footnotes you add at the end of the sentences in the paper to prove your points come from a worthy source. Society would be a whole lot happier and participating in a much more meaningful dialog if it took time to validate the accuracy, reliability and quality of the source and content of the information it receives. That means using primary, secondary and tertiary resources to research subject matter, and not relying on mainstream news media outlets or social media sources.
