Clerical pedophiles are not above men’s laws. They exist as a result of men’s laws; a system of rules that regulates the actions of its members and may enforce by the imposition of penalties; but really what your asking is “how do we change a man’s state of existence?” Pedophilia is a state of existence, a condition of abnormal sexual desires. Like all people, clerical pedophiles will continue to have desires, illusions and impulses as long as they are alive. What constitute desires arise from the contact of the five sense organs (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body). What rules a pedophile is a condition where they are driven by instinct. They lack reason, morality, and the wisdom to control themselves. The “law of the jungle” rules them. They stand in fear of the strong, but despise and prey on those who are weaker than they are. Courts probably sentence some clergy to prison, then after doing their time release them. There is no way to monitor clergy who are sex offenders, because they likely fall under the jurisdiction of the religious order, which does not require them to register on the sexual abuse registry. I suppose clergy can be “born again” through repentance of their sins against children and express their faith in Jesus Christ. However, the belief does not reflect the true aspect of the reality; one component of which is “nature,” i.e. the inherent disposition or quality of a thing or being that cannot be discerned from the outside, and that which imposes a misleading belief is possessing a deluded nature. In this case, experiences will tell them that their desires cause them suffering and so they will redirect their sins to Jesus Christ believing Jesus Christ is suffering on the cross for them, and in the process believe in the delivery from their sins, all with the conclusion that by resisting their desires to sin again will yield them good results: heaven? But then, heaven too is a condition; that of contentment and joy, from which one feels a release from suffering or upon satisfaction of some desire. Though, heaven is only a temporary joy, which is dependent upon and may easily change with circumstances. Stop me at any time to tell me where the system of rules that regulates the actions of a pedophile and many enforce by the imposition of penalties change the circumstances under which this behavior may be triggered. The trouble is; it is not humanly possible to eliminate our desires. We crave savory food, the beauty of art, the smell of roses and the sounds of music. Thus; for pedophiles not to possess the desire to participate in what is sexual misconduct is a delusion, and so taking action that stems from ignorance will only continue to create negative results, which in turn will lead to more suffering and give rise to more negative desires and impulses by yet more pedophiles. The point then is; not for pedophiles to be rid of desire and let go of them, but to take personal responsibility and stand up with dauntless courage and unwavering confidence and motivate themselves to use their desires as “fuel” to bring forth their enlightened nature and transform them into benevolent functions all humans can respect. To summon the power, wisdom, and compassion to become a source of hope, an impetus to protect living beings, to instruct and lead others to becoming enlightened about the phenomena, and to nurture and support the afflicted would be what it means to have changed poison into medicine, in order to bring forth happiness and cease suffering.
